The Bottom Comes When We Stop Digging

Once upon a time, there was a man who had dug a hole so deep that he could not climb out under his own power. often passersby would hear his calls for help. Some walked past, pretending not to hear. Some threw money or rations down into the pit. Occassionally, someone would even try to help. They dangled ropes and stretched down ladders, but nothing could ever seem to reach the man.

One day, as the man sat in the dark, alone and without hope, he heard a noise from above. Then suddenly, much to his surprise another man dropped into the hole and stood right beside the desperate man.

“I’m here to help,” said the new man, smiling.

“You fool,” replied man who had been trapped for so long, “Now we are both doomed!”

The man chuckled, “It’s okay, I’ve been here before and I know the way out…”
8 years ago that man was me.

My rescuers were the people from the program who visited Hospitals and Institutions.

Today, I have commitments in 2 jails and carry the message to 3 treatment centers.

Thanks to all my fellows for sharing the solution.
When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, my hand will always be there;

And for that I am responsible.
