All Grown Up

Prying eyes spied for certain

An adolescent adjusts the curtains
His drunken neighbor begins to beckon

“I’ll tell your mother,” she starts to threaten
“Do as I ask and when you’re done,

If you please me, I’ll tell no one”
Embarrassed, ashamed, he complied

And on that day his childhood died
